Technical issues during class

Edited

If something goes wrong during class, work through these steps in order. Most issues can be resolved in under a minute without ending the session.

Virtual Classroom won't load or "Go to Classroom" is unresponsive

1

Click the reset button
Immediately to the right of the Go to Classroom button in the lesson popup. Then try clicking Go to Classroom again.

2

Try a different browser
Chrome is the recommended browser for the Virtual Classroom. If you're using another browser, switch to Chrome.

3

Clear your cache
Go to Chrome Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data. Clear cached images and files, then try again.

4

Switch to Backup Call
If the Virtual Classroom still won't load, open the Backup Call (Google Meet) from your lesson popup and message the student the link via LivePrep chat.

Remember: Virtual Classroom links change for every class. Never use a bookmarked link — always open from your LivePrep Calendar.

Audio issues (microphone, echo, student can't hear you)

1

Check your microphone is enabled
Your mic is off by default when you join. Click the microphone icon next to your name in the Attendee List to turn it on.

2

Check browser permissions
Make sure Chrome has permission to access your microphone. If you see a blocked microphone icon in the browser address bar, click it and allow access, then rejoin.

3

If there is echo
Turn off the Virtual Classroom microphone (top toolbar) and switch audio to the Backup Call (Google Meet). Using both simultaneously causes echo.

4

Switch to Backup Call for audio
Go to your LivePrep Calendar, open the lesson popup, and click Backup Call. Paste the Google Meet link into the Virtual Classroom chat. Once everyone joins Google Meet, mute the Virtual Classroom mic and conduct class normally.

Video issues (camera not showing)

1

Check browser permissions
Same as microphone — ensure Chrome has camera access. Check the address bar for a blocked camera icon.

2

Check your camera is selected
In Chrome, go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Camera and confirm the correct camera device is selected.

3

Rejoin the classroom
Leave and rejoin the Virtual Classroom from your LivePrep Calendar. Allow microphone and camera access when prompted.

Student can't connect to class

1

Send a WhatsApp Alert
From the lesson popup, click Send WhatsApp Alert. This goes through the Zinkerz Support line directly to the student.

2

Chat the student
Click Chat Student in the lesson popup. If their icon is green (active), message them to check if they're having trouble connecting.

3

Wait out the full class time
Keep both the Virtual Classroom and Backup Call open. You will be paid regardless of whether the student joins.

See Joining your first class in the Getting Started section for the full no-show procedure.

Session disconnects unexpectedly

1

Rejoin immediately
Go back to your LivePrep Calendar and click Go to Classroom again. The session can be extended if time was lost.

2

Extend the session if needed
A popup will appear 5 minutes before the scheduled end time asking if you want to extend. You can extend as many times as needed.

3

Switch to Backup Call if instability continues
If the Virtual Classroom keeps disconnecting, move to the Backup Call for the remainder of the session.
