Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common educator questions. If your question isn't here, contact Support via WhatsApp at +1 (617) 855-1550 or email hayley@zinkerz.com.
Pay and compensation
Do I get paid if a student doesn't show up?
Yes. You will be paid the full lesson amount regardless of whether the student joins, as long as you were present and waited out the full class time. Submit lesson notes marking the student as absent.
Do I get paid if a student cancels last-minute (joins and immediately leaves)?
Yes. If a student joins and tells you they cannot stay, you do not need to remain for the full class time, and you will still be paid for the session.
Will I be penalized for canceling a class within 24 hours?
The penalty will not be applied if you: (1) message Support via WhatsApp immediately after removing the class, and (2) provide sufficient justification. The penalty will remain if you don't contact Support or if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Lesson notes
What happens if I forget to submit lesson notes?
A $5 penalty is applied for lesson notes not submitted within 24 hours of the class. If you're running short on time, use Save in Draft and complete them before the deadline. Contact Support via WhatsApp if you're having a platform issue that's preventing submission.
My lesson notes are saved in draft but won't submit. What do I do?
The Send Lesson Notes button stays grayed out if any required field is incomplete or incorrectly filled. Go back through every field carefully — a missing homework score or blank comment is the most common cause. If all fields look correct and it still won't submit, contact Support via WhatsApp immediately.
How do I know if my lesson notes were successfully submitted?
The class on your LivePrep Calendar will change color: green means the lesson was attended and notes submitted successfully; red means the student was marked absent. If the class is still yellow, the notes have not been properly submitted.
Students and scheduling
How do I access a student's spreadsheet?
From your LivePrep Calendar, click on the class, then click the three dots icon next to the student's name and select Course Materials. See Accessing a student's spreadsheet in Getting Started for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Who assigns Full Mocks (Weekend Mocks) to students?
Full (Weekend) Mocks are assigned by Zinkerz staff, not educators. If you see a student has recently submitted a Full Mock (check the Date Submitted rows in the spreadsheet), it should be reviewed in their next class.
A student asked me to reschedule directly. What should I do?
Do not offer to reschedule directly, promise a makeup class, or say you will add a class. Your response should be: "Thank you for letting me know. Please reach out to Zinkerz Support if you need help with scheduling." All scheduling decisions are made by Zinkerz Support.
I have concerns about a student. Where should I note them?
Do not document serious concerns in lesson notes — those are sent to parents. Contact hayley@zinkerz.com directly. The Zinkerz team will handle communication with the student.
Platform and account
I removed a time from my availability but a class is still showing for that time. Why?
Removing a time from your availability does not automatically remove classes already scheduled at that time. You need to manually remove those specific classes and then contact Support via WhatsApp if a recurring schedule adjustment is needed.
My LivePrep calendar is not syncing with my personal calendar. What do I do?
Subscription calendars have limited auto-refresh. Last-minute changes can take up to 24 hours to appear. Always use your LivePrep Calendar as the authoritative source. Make sure you set the auto-refresh to the fastest available option when you first set up the sync.
